Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation

Movement planning for long term success

Myotherapy applies a range of techniques and takes an evidence-informed approach to support client outcomes, with a focus on supporting self-management. Exercise prescription and rehabilitation is just one aspect of myotherapy, but is one that we are really passionate about.

We want to help everyone and anyone find a way to move that suits them and their body.

Moving your body and keeping active is good for everyone, regardless of your age and fitness level. Whether you are new to exercise, recovering from an injury, or simply want to maintain your body condition as you age, we can assist you!

We tailor your program specifically to you and your needs, and will suggest attending Focus sessions or Reformer Classes depending on your goals. A thoughtful, well-planned program means you’ll not only be able to stick with it but you’ll start to see real results too.

  • In a myotherapy exercise consultation, you will gain an understanding of your body and its pain/discomforts, and how to overcome it through exercise, including:

    • Increasing your confidence and ability to deal with pain.

    • Learning about factors that may be contributing to your pain.

    • Gaining the ability to overcome and minimise pain on your own, without having to depend on other people.

    • Learning exercises that fit around your daily life, so you find rehab becomes easier.

    • Increasing your overall strength.

  • This consultation is right for you if you:

    • Are returning to exercise after a break

    • You have been told you need to strengthen your body after injury or surgery

    • Are not sure what to do next after finishing an exercise/rehab program given to you

    • Have a specific movement goal in mind, e.g. return to sport, improve core strength, or want to be able to get down on the floor (and back up again!) with the grandkids.

We are here to support you with your goals, and will progress your exercises slowly and safely under supervision.

  • Please wear comfortable clothes that will enable you to move freely - nothing too loose or flowing. Please bring a towel and a water bottle, and wear socks whilst on the reformer. Grippy socks are preferred, and are available for purchase in the studio. Hair should be tied up so as to not get entangled in the equipment.

There is a bathroom/change room available in the studio.

Please refrain from bringing any valuable personal belongings into our studio, such as mobile phones, jewellery, personal devices, wallets, bags, and purses. Unite Studio is not responsible in any way for the safekeeping of your personal belongings that you bring into our studio.

  • Our therapists have received certification/training in Mat/Reformer Pilates, Exercise Prescription, Pre- and post-natal corrective exercise, and Strength and Conditioning.

  • Yes! These consultations are claimable on Private Health Insurance if you have cover for myotherapy in your extras.

  • If you can’t find a suitable time or would like an appointment sooner, please list your preferred days and times in your appointment booking notes and you will be placed on the wait-list.
